Mantidactylus argenteus Methuen, 1920 "1919", Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1919: 353. Holotype: TMP 1009 by original designation (now numbered 10078 according to Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 161). Guibé, 1978, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 11: 31, regarded TMP 10078 and 10079, in error, as syntypes. Type locality: "Folohy, East Madagascar".
