Mantidactylus ambohimitombi Boulenger, 1919 "1918", Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1918: 259-260. Syntypes: including BMNH 1947.2.26.25-32 according to Guibé, 1978, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 11: 42. Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 252, noted that syntypes BMNH 1947.2.26.31-32 are referrable to Mantidactylus curtus. Type locality: "Ambohimitombi Forest, Madagascar".
