Mantidactylus (Guibemantis) timidus Vences and Glaw, 2005, Herpetol. J., 15: 40. Holotype: ZMA 19466, by original designation. Type locality: "less than 10 km north of Toamasina, eastern Madagascar (18° 03′ 51″ S, 49° 22′ 39″ E, 8 m above sea level)".
