Rhacophorus depressiceps Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 467. Syntypes: BMNH (4 specimens), by original designation, these being BMNH 1947.2.27.50-53; BMNH 1947.2.27.50 designated lectotype by Blommers-Schlösser, 1979, Beaufortia, 29: 35. Type localities: "East Betsileo" and "Ankafana, Betsileo", Madagascar; restricted to East Betsileo by lectotype designation.

Rhacophorus mocquardi Boulenger, 1896, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 6, 17: 402. Holotype: BMNH 1947.2.8.62 according to Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 154. Type locality: "Sahembendrana, C. Madagascar". Synonymy by Guibé, 1975 "1974", Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, Ser. 3, Zool., 266: 1763; Guibé, 1978, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 11: 23.

Mantidactylus acuticeps Ahl, 1929 "1928", Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 14: 471. Holotype: ZMB unnumbered according to the original publication; ZMB 30496, according to Glaw, Vences, and Gossmann, 2000, J. Nat. Hist., 34: 1141, incorrectly reported as lost by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 196. Type locality: "Central-Madagascar". Synonymy with Rana redimita Boulenger by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 196. Synonymy with Mantidactylus depressiceps suggested by Glaw and Vences, 1992, Fieldguide Amph. Rept. Madagascar: 271, 307, and confirmed by Glaw, Vences, and Gossmann, 2000, J. Nat. Hist., 34: 1141.

Removed from the synonymy of Boophis difficilis by Guibé, 1975 "1974", Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, Ser. 3, Zool., 266: 1761, where it had been placed by Guibé, 1947, Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, Ser. 2, 19: 439. Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 200-201, provided an account and (p. 204-205) noted an similar unnamed species from Andohahela, southeastern Madagascar.
