Boophis sandrae Glaw, Köhler, De la Riva, Vieites, and Vences, 2010, Zootaxa, 2383: 40. Holotype: ZMA 20133, by original designation. Type locality: "Ranomafana, Andranoroa river, near Ranomafanakely, 21° 14.872′ S, 47° 22.580′ E, 1138 m a.s.l., southeastern Madagascar".

In the Boophis luteus group and previously confused with Boophis elenae according to the original publication.
