Boophis sambirano Vences and Glaw, 2005, Afr. J. Herpetol., 54: 79. Holotype: ZSM 811/2003, by original designation. Type locality: "at a small settlement called 'Camp Norbert' by our guides, 13 56′ 53″ S, 48 27′ 28″ E, ca. 280 m above sea level, Manongarivo Special Reserve, northwestern Madagascar".
