Boophis rufioculis Glaw and Vences, 1997 "1996", Salamandra, 32: 228. Holotype: ZFMK 60079, by original designation. Type locality: "Regenwald bei An'Ala (zur Kolonialzeit Haltestella 'La foręt' der Eisenbahn), etwa 9 km östlich von Andasibe (= Perinet), östliches Zentral-Madagaskar, ca. 840 m uber NN".

Distribution

Central part of the eastern rainforest belt from Mantadia south to Antoetra, central Madagascar, 900-1200 m elevation.

Comment

In the Boophis goudoti group according to the original publication. Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 160-161, provided an account and noted at least one unnamed similar species.
