Boophis piperatus Glaw, Köhler, De la Riva, Vieites, and Vences, 2010, Zootaxa, 2383: 7. Holotype: ZSM 377/2004, by original designation. Type locality: "Ranomafana, Andranoroa river, near Ranomafanakely, 21°14.872′ S, 47°22.580′ E; 1138 m above sea level (a.s.l.), southeastern Madagascar".

Comment
In the Boophis majori group, and previously confused with Boophis rhodoscelis, according to the original publication.
