Boophis periegetes Cadle, 1995, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 115: 316. Holotype: MCZ 119850, by original designation. Type locality: "Ambolovaventy, 1230 m elevation, just inside the western boundary of the Ranomafana National Park (approximately 8.4 airline km SE of the village of Sahavondrona), Fiondronana Ifanandiana, Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar".

Distribution
Known only from the region of the type localty (Fianarantsoa Province, Madagascar, 1030-1230 m elevation).
Comment
Most similar to members of the Boophis goudoti group, but unassigned, according to the original publication. Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 164-165, provided an account and assigned this species to the Boophis goudoti group.
