Syntypes: BMNH (several), by original designation, including BMNH 1947.2.9.14-15 according to Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 303. BMNH 1947.2.9.14 designated lectotype by Glaw and Vences, 1994, Fieldguide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 2: 404. Type locality: "Ankafana, Betsileo", Madagascar.

Rhacophorus anceps Mocquard, 1902, Bull. Soc. Philomath., Paris, Ser. 9, 4: 20. Holotype: MNHNP 1901.228, according to Guibé, 1950 "1948", Cat. Types Amph. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat.: 52. Type locality: "Fort-Dauphin", Madagascar. Considered a nomen dubium by Guibé, 1978, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 11: 78, and Andreone, 1993, Boll. Mus. Reg. Sci. Nat. Torino, 11: 299. Considered a likely synonym of Boophis luteus by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 342. Synonymy by Glaw and Vences, 1992, Fieldguide Amph. Rept. Madagascar: 280.

Rhacophorus isabellinus Boettger, 1913, in Voeltzkow (ed.), Reise Ost-Afr., 3(4): 277. Holotype: SMF 6821 (formerly 1078.2a) according to Mertens, 1967, Senckenb. Biol., 48(A): 49. Type locality: "Moramanga, O. Madagascar". Synonymy by Guibé, 1978, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 11: 73; Blommers-Schlösser, 1979, Bijdr. Dierkd., 49: 273; and Glaw and Vences, 1992, Fieldguide Amph. Rept. Madagascar: 280. Tentatively assigned to this synonymy by Andreone, 1993, Boll. Mus. Reg. Sci. Nat. Torino, 11: 299.
