Boophis anjanaharibeensis Andreone, 1996, Aqua, 2: 27. Holotype: MRSN A1386.1, by original designation. Type locality: "in the rainforest near Ranomafana village, Anjanaharibe-Sud Special Reserve, Antsiranana (Diégo Suarez) Province, Madagascar".

Known only from the type locality (Antsiranana Province) in northern Madagascar.
In the "green Boophis complex" according to the original publication. Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 168-169, provided an account and placed this species in the Boophis luteus group.
