Rhacophorus albilabris Boulenger, 1888, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 6, 1: 105. Holotype: BMNH 1947.2.9.16 according to Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 305. Type locality: "Eastern Imerina", Madagascar.

Forests of northeastern, eastern and southeastern Madagascar, 100-1000 m elevation, Madagascar.

See Cadle, 1995, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 115: 313-345, for discussion of sexual dimorphism. Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 166-167, provided an account and noted two unnamed species from eastern Madagascar.
