Paratelmatobius lutzii Lutz and Carvalho, 1958, Mem. Oswaldo Cruz, Rio de Janeiro, 56: 241. Holotype: MNRJ 2180, according to XXX. Type locality: "Brejo da Lapa, Alto Itatiaia, Estado do Rio de Janeiro, lat. 22° 24′ 48″ S. long, 44° 55′ 00″ W. Greenwich, alt. 2.100 m.", Brazil. Bokermann, 1966, Lista Anot. Local. Tipo Anf. Brasil.: 80, noted that the types were obtained "entre 9 e 11 da estrada de rodagem que vai ter as Agulhas Negras, a cerca de 2.200 metros de altitude".

English Names

Lutz's Rapids Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 82).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality in the Alto do Itatiaia, in the Serra da Mantiqueira, State of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil.
