Paratelmatobius cardosoi Pombal and Haddad, 1999, Copeia, 1999: 1015. Holotype: MNRJ 18795, by original designation. Type locality: "in the pathway to Pedra Lisa waterfall, Paranapiacaba (approximately 23° 45′ W; 46° 22′ S), Município de Santo André, Estado de São Paulo, Brazil".

Two localities in the Serra do Mar Range, São Paulo State, southeastern Brazil.
