Comment

Pyron and Wiens, 2011, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 61: 543-583, erected Paratelmatobiinae for Paratelmatobius and Scythrophrys (a taxon that they suggested is the sister taxon of Leiuperinae) but failed to meet the requirement of the Code for characters that purport to differentiate the taxon. Regardless, I employ this name here because it is a monophyletic group and I trust that someone will validate the name at some point (DRF).

Contained taxa

  • Paratelmatobius Lutz and Carvalho, 1958 (6 sp.)
  • Scythrophrys Lynch, 1971 (1 sp.)
