Leptodactylus viridis Jim and Spirandeli Cruz, 1973, An. III J. Cient. Fac. Cienc. Med. Biol. Botucatu: 13. Holotype: MZUSP 50175, by original designation. Type locality: "Fazenda Pedra Branca, Município de Itajibá, Estado da Bahia", Brazil.
English Names
Jim's White-lipped Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 82).
Distribution
Known from the type locality (Itajibá, Bahia), extreme northeastern Minas Gerais at Fazenda Santana, and at Fazenda Vista Bela, Guaratinga Municipality, southern Bahia, Brazil.
Comment
More complete description published subsequently by Jim and Spirandeli Cruz, 1979, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 39: 707. In the Leptodactylus ocellatus group according to Heyer and Maxson, 1982, in Prance (ed.), Biol. Diversification Tropics, but placed in the Leptodactylus melanonotus group in the original publication. Silvano and Pimenta, 2002, Herpetol. Rev., 33: 221, provided the record for Bahia and commented on the distribution. Moura, Santana, Ferreira, and Feio, 2009, Check List, 5: 780-782, provided a spot map, the record for Minas Gerais, and discussed the range.
