Leptodactylus turimiquensis Heyer, 2005, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 37: 333. Holotype: AMNH 70667, by original designation. Type locality: "Caripito, Monagas, Venezuela, 100 m, 10° 08′ N, 63° 06′ W".

In the Leptodactylus pentadactylus group, confused with Leptodactylus pentadactylus prior to its naming, according to the original publication.
