Leptodactylus sabanensis Heyer, 1994, Smithson. Contrib. Zool., 546: 99. Holotype: KU 166559, by original designation. Type locality: "Venezuela; Bolívar; km 127, El Dorado—Santa Elena de Uairen [=Vairen] road, 1250 m, 6°00′N, 61°30′W".
None noted.
Known only from and near the Gran Sabana of Venezuela.
In the Leptodactylus wagneri-Leptodactylus podicipinus complex, according to the original publication. Barrio-Amorós, 1999 "1998", Acta Biol. Venezuelica, 18: 44, commented on the range and previous misidentifications in Venezuela.
