Leptodactylus dominicensis Müller, 1923, Zool. Anz., 57: 42. Holotype: ZSM 258/1909 according to Glaw and Franzen, 2006, Spixiana, München, 29: 174. Type locality: "Dominica", Lesser Antilles. Junior homonym of Leptodactylus dominicensis Cochran, 1923.

Leptodactylus fallax Müller, 1926, Zool. Anz., 65: 200. Replacement name for Leptodactylus dominicensis Müller, 1923.

English Names

Dominican White-lipped Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 81).

Mountain Chicken (IUCN; Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 401).

Distribution

St. Kitts, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Dominica, and St. Lucia (now extant only on Montserrat and Dominica, Lesser Antilles). Introduced unsuccessfully on Jamaica and Puerto Rico.
