Pseudopaludicola serrana Toledo, 2010, Zootaxa, 2681: 48. Holotype: ZUEC16442, by original designation. Type locality: "temporary pond in the Condomínio Retiro das Pedras (private area), Serra da Moeda, municipality of Brumadinho, state of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil (20° 06′ 06.7″S and 43° 59′ 20.8″W; approximately 1.450 m above sea level)".

Known from three localities at the Espinhaço mountain range: Serra do Cipó, municipality of Santana do Riacho (approximately 19°08′ S, 43°40′ W; 1071 m), Serra da Moeda, municipality of Brumadinho (20° 06′ 06.7″ S, 43° 59′ 20.8″W; approximately 1450 m), and Serra do Lenheiro, municipality of São João del Rei (ca. 21°08′ S, 44°17′ W; 1081 m), all above 1,000 m elevation, state of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil.
In the Pseudopaludicola falcipes group, most similar to Pseudopaludicola saltica and Pseudopaludicola murundu, according to the original publication. Toledo, 2010, Zootaxa, 2715: 68, corrected the title of the original publication.
