Pseudopaludicola hyleaustralis Pansonato, Morais, Ávila, Kawashita-Ribeiro, Strussmann, and Martins, 2012, Zootaxa, 3523: 50. Holotype: UFMT 5560, by original designation. Type locality: "on the right margin of the Apiacás River (Salto do Apiacás waterfalls; 10° 20′ S; 56° 56′ W), municipality of Alta Floresta, state of Mato Grosso, Brazil".

Closely related to Pseudopaludicola canga according to the original publication.
