Comment

See comments under Pseudopaludicola mystacalis and Pseudopaludicola saltica. See account by Cei, 1980, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Monogr., 2: 410-412. Klappenbach and Langone, 1992, An. Mus. Nac. Hist. Nat. Montevideo, Ser. 2, 8: 199, noted that geographic variation in karyotype suggests that this nominal taxon contains more than one species. Lobo, 1994, Cuad. Herpetol., 8: 177-199, redescribed the species. Achaval and Olmos, 2003, Anf. Rept. Uruguay, ed. 2: 27, provided a brief account and photograph for the Uruguay population. Brusquetti and Lavilla, 2006, Cuad. Herpetol., 20: 18, briefly discussed the range in Paraguay. Fávero, Veiga-Menoncello, Rossa-Feres, Strussmann, Giaretta, Andrade, Colombo, and Recco-Pimentel, 2011, Zool. Stud., Taipei, 50: 826-836, discussed karyology.
