Physalaemus rupestris Caramaschi, Carcerelli, and Feio, 1991, Herpetologica, 47: 148. Holotype: MNRJ 10551, by original designation. Type locality: "Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, Lima Duarte Municipality (approximately 21°42′ S, 43°53′ W, 1680 m over sea level), State of Minas Gerais, Brazil".

Distribution

High elevation montane fields in the Serra do Ibitipoca and Serra Negra, Minas Gerias, Brazil.

Comment

Very similar to Physalaemus deimaticus and not assignable to species group, according to the original publication. See comment under Physalaemus erythros. In the Physalaemus deimaticus group of Nascimento, Caramaschi, and Cruz, 2005, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 63: 309. Oliveira, Tolledo, and Feio, 2009, Check List, 5: 815-818, provided a range extension to the Serra Negra, Minas Gerais, Brazil, discussed the range, and provided a spot map. Cruz, Feio, and Caramaschi, 2009, Anf. Ibitipoca: 118-119, provided photographs and a brief account for Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
