Distribution

From the municipality of Santa Teresa, state of Espírito Santo, southern region of the state of Minas Gerais to the municipality of São Paulo and central region of the state of São Paulo, in the municipality of Botucatu, Brazil.

Zool., São Paulo, 31: 316-317. Cruz, Cassini, and Caramaschi, 2008, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 3: 242, suggested that the taxon is a species complex. Giaretta, Martins, and Santos, 2009, Zootaxa, 2266: 51-60, compared the calls of Physalaemus olfersi, Physalaemus moreirae, Physalaemus bokermanni, and Physalaemus jordanensis. Species redelimited and discussed by Cassini, Cruz, and Caramaschi, 2010, Zootaxa, 2491: 1-33.
