Physalaemus moreirae (Miranda-Ribeiro, 1937)
Engystomops moreirae Miranda-Ribeiro, 1937, O Campo, 8: 68. Holotype: MNRJ 464. Type locality: "Sorocaba, S[ão]. Paulo", Brazil; in error, according to Caramaschi and Caramaschi, 1991, J. Herpetol., 25: 107-108, who discussed the problem and corrected the type locality to "Sororocaba . . . on the slopes of the Paranapiacaba or Serra do Mar Range, in the Santos Municipality, State of São Paulo, southern Brazil (ca. 23° 57′ S, 46° 30′ W; 300-500m elev.)".

Physalaemus franciscae Heyer, 1985, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 98: 668. Holotype: MZUSP 59935, by original designation. Type locality: "Brazil: São Paulo, Boracéia, approximately 23°38′ S, 45°50′ W". Synonymy by Caramaschi and Caramaschi, 1991, J. Herpetol., 25: 107-108.

Giaretta, Martins, and Santos, 2009, Zootaxa, 2266: 51-60, compared the calls of Physalaemus olfersi, Physalaemus moreirae, Physalaemus bokermanni, and Physalaemus jordanensis. Provete, Garey, Dias, and Rossa-Feres, 2011, Herpetologica, 67: 258-270, reported on larval morphology.
