Liopelma hamiltoni McCulloch, 1919, Trans. Proc. New Zealand Inst., Wellington, 51: 447. Holotype: Dominion Mus. (= NMNZ), according to the original publication. Type locality: "Stephens Island, Cook Strait", New Zealand.
