Suisse Zool., 114: 102-113, discussed the former difficulty of distinguishing this species from Kassina maculosa, provisionally removed this species from the synonym of Kassina maculosa, where it had been placed by Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 241-242, and provided discussion of how identification can be arrived at.
