Hyperolius xenorhinus Laurent, 1972, Explor. Parc Natl. Virunga, Ser. 2, 22: 73. Holotype: MRAC. Type locality: "mont Teye, secteur Kikura, alt. 1,800 m, contreforts septrionaux du Ruwenzori", Virunga National Park, Kivu, Dem. Rep. Congo.

Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Mount Teye, Virunga National Park, Kivu, Dem. Rep. Congo), 1800 m elevation.
Comment
Possibly an aberrant specimen of Hyperolius alticola according to the original publication and Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 159.
