Revised by Amiet, 1979 "1978", Ann. Fac. Sci. Cameroun, 25: 234-243, and compared to Hyperolius platyceps and Hyperolius ademetzi. Likely identical with the Hyperolius platyceps langi in Uganda of Schiøtz, 1975, Treefrogs E. Afr.: 147, according to Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 147. See comment under Hyperolius langi. Schiøtz, 2006, Alytes, 24: 44, reported the species for Boteka, central Dem. Rep. Congo and briefly discussed the highly provisional nature of the range. Pauwels and Rödel, 2007, Herpetozoa, 19: 135-148, provided the Gabon record. See account for Cameroon by Amiet, 2012, Rainettes Cameroun: 239-246.
