Hyperolius kihangensis Schiøtz and Westergaard In Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 177. Holotype: Not stated; given as ZMUC R 767861 by Schiøtz and Westergaard, 2000, Steenstrupia, 25: 2. Type locality: "swamps in dense evergreen forest in the Udzungwas, Tanzania"; given as "a small swamp in dense forest, Udzungwa Scap Forest Reserve, Iringa Region, Iringa District, Tanzania" by Schiøtz and Westergaard, 2000, Steenstrupia, 25: 2.

English Names

Kihanga Reed Frog (Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 163).

Distribution

Swamps in the Udzungwa Mountains of south-central Tanzania, ca. 1740 m elevation.

Inadvertant diagnosis of a taxon supposed to have been named elsewhere. Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 163-164, provided an account.
