Hyperolius bolifambae Mertens, 1938, Abh. Senckenb. Naturforsch. Ges., 442: 28. Holotype: SMF 22457, according to R. Laurent in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 208. Type locality: "Bach an der Faktorei Bolifamba", Mount Cameroon, Cameroon.

Hyperolius erythropus Laurent, 1943, Ann. Mus. R. Congo Belge, Tervuren, Zool., 4: 102. Holotype: MRAC 315, by original designation. Type locality: "Medje (Uele)", northern Dem. Rep. Congo. Synonymy by Laurent, 1943, Bull. Mus. R. Hist. Nat. Belg., 19: 11.

Bolifamba Reed Frog (Hyperolius bolifambae: Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 66).

Medje Reed Frog (Hyperolius erythropus [no longer recognized]: Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 66).

Distribution

Southeastern Nigeria through Cameroon to southwestern Central African Republic; presumably to be found in Rep. Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon.

Comment

See comment under Hyperolius erythropus. Schiřtz, 1963, Vidensk. Medd. Dansk Naturhist. Foren., 125: 70-71, provided records for Nigeria. Pauwels and Rödel, 2007, Herpetozoa, 19: 135-148, did not note the species as occurring in Gabon. See account for Cameroon by Amiet, 2012, Rainettes Cameroun: 343-349.
