Cryptothylax minutus Laurent, 1976, Ann. Mus. R. Afr. Cent., Tervuren, Ser. Octavo, Sci. Zool., 213: 13. Holotype: MRAC 117082, according to R. Laurent in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 205. Type locality: "Mabali, restringa du lac Tumba, Zone de Bikoro, Equateur, Zaïre"western Dem. Rep. Congo.
