Chrysobatrachus Laurent, 1951, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 44: 376. Type species: Chrysobatrachus cupreonitens Laurent, 1951, by monotypy.

As for the single species.

Comment

Laurent, 1964, Evolution, 18: 458-467, suggested a close relationship with Hyperolius. Drewes, 1984, Occas. Pap. California Acad. Sci., 139: 39, concluded that Chrysobatrachus was the sister-taxon of Acanthixalus + Callixalus. See account by Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 89-90.
