Rainforest from extreme southeastern Guinea through Ivory Coast to western Nigeria and Liberia; apparently absent from Togo and Benin.
Rödel and Branch, 2002, Salamandra, 38: 260, confirmed the existence of this species in western forests of Ivory Coast. Segniagbeto, Bowessidjaou, Dubois, and Ohler, 2007, Alytes, 24: 76, did not list this species in Togo. Hillers and Rödel, 2007, Salamandra, 43: 1-10, reported the species in Liberia.
