Megalixalus laevis Ahl, 1930, Sitzungsber. Ges. Naturforsch. Freunde Berlin, 1930: 93. Holotype: ZMB, by original designation. Type locality: "Kamerun".

English Names

Liberia Banana Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 65).

Smooth Spiny Reed Frog (Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 137).

Distribution

Rainforests of southern Cameroon (and likely extreme western Nigeria) through northern Gabon and Rep. Congo to eastern Dem. Rep. Congo and southwestern Uganda; presumably to be found in Equatorial Guinea.

Comment

See comment under Afrixalus vibekensis. Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 137-138, provided an account. Amiet, 2009, Rev.
