Elosia ornata Bokermann, 1967, Neotropica, 13: 135. Holotype: WCAB 19558, by original designation; now in MZUSP. Type locality: "la altura del km. 11 de la ruta que llega hasta el alto Itatiaia, próximo a los 2.250 m de altura, Parque Nacional do Itatiaia, Río de Janeiro, Brasil".

Hylodes ornatus — Lynch, 1971, Misc. Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 53: 167. by implication.

English Names

Ornate Tree Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 81).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Parque Nacional do Itatiaia, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

Comment

In the Hylodes lateristrigatus group of Heyer, 1982, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 95: 377-385. Bilate, Nogueira-Costa, and Weber, 2012, Zootaxa, 3249: 60-66, reported on the larval anatomy and advertisement call.
