Syntypes: 3 specimens of which one was figured on pl. 6, fig. 3; these three specimens were ZSM 1043/0 (3 specimens), now lost according to Hoogmoed and Gruber, 1983, Spixiana, München, Suppl., 9: 361, who noted that although two of the syntypes were Hylodes nasus, the figured specimen was likely either an Eleutherodactylus or Thoropa. Type locality: "Provincia Bahiae", Brazil. Synonymy by Peters, 1872, Monatsber. Preuss. Akad. Wiss. Berlin, 1872: 207; Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 193.
