Elosia mertensi Bokermann, 1956, Neotropica, 2: 81. Holotype: WCAB 100, by original designation; now in MZUSP. Type locality: "en un riacho a la altura del Km 47 de la Carretera Antigua San Pablo—Santos, Estado de San Pablo, Brasil, 700 m de altura".
