Syntypes: ZSM 24/1923 (one specimen, lost), according to Glaw and Franzen, 2006, Spixiana, München, 29: 172, and NHM (7 specimens) according to Güntert, Grossenbacher, Huber, Aerni, and Morgenthaler, 1993, Jahrb. Naturhist. Mus. Bern, 11: 147-161. Type locality: "Orgel-Gebirge" (= Serra dos Órgăos), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Corrected to "Terezópolis, Rio de Janeiro . . . . Colonia Alpina", Brazil by Bokermann, 1966, Lista Anot. Local. Tipo Anf. Brasil.: 37.

Distribution

Minas Gerais and southern Espírito Santo to Săo Paulo, Brazil.

Comment

In the Hylodes lateristrigatus group of Heyer, 1982, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 95: 377-385, who noted that Bokermann, 1967, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 27: 229-231, referred this name to the wrong species.
