Comment

In the Hylodes nasus group of Heyer, 1982, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 95: 377-385. The grammatically incorrect name Hylodes asperus has had some use. See accounts by Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 282-284, and Heyer, Rand, Cruz, Peixoto, and Nelson, 1990, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 31: 303-304. Lingnau, Canedo, and Pombal, 2008, Copeia, 2008: 600-601, discussed misidentifications in the literature and provided a corrected range map.
