Phyllomedusa oreades Brandão, 2002, J. Herpetol., 36: 572. Holotype: CHUNB 12510, by original designation. Type locality: "Serra da Mesa, Goiás State, Brazil (13° 45′ S; 48° 18′ W, 940 m), near 1 km after the first gate of the Serra da Mesa hydroelectric plant, on the road that connects the plant to Minaçu before the Avá-Canoeiros Indian reserve".

Phyllomedusa araguari Giaretta, Oliveira, and Kokubum, 2007, Zootaxa, 1614: 32. Holotype: ZUEC 12880, by original designation. Type locality: "Estação de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Ambiental Galheiro (±19°12′S, 47°10′W; 900 m altitude), municipality of Perdizes, Minas Gerais, Brazil". Synonymy suggested by Brandão and Álvarez, 2009, Zootaxa, 2044: 61-64, and corroborated by Faivovich, Haddad, Baêta, Jungfer, Álvares, Brandão, Sheil, Barrientos, Barrio-Amorós, Cruz, and Wheeler, 2010, Cladistics, 26: 241.

Distribution

Plateaus in the states of Goiás (Serra da Mesa, Chapada dos Veadeiros, Serra dos Pirineus), Minas Gerais (municipality of Cabaceira Grante), and in the Distrito Federal, above 900 m elevation, Brazil.

Comment

Most similar to Phyllomedusa ayayae, Phyllomedusa megacephala, and Phyllomedusa centralis according to the original publication. In the Phyllomedusa hypochondrialis group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 117, Caramaschi, 2006, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 64: 159-179, and Faivovich, Haddad, Baêta, Jungfer, Álvares, Brandão, Sheil, Barrientos, Barrio-Amorós, Cruz, and Wheeler, 2010, Cladistics, 26: 259. Carvalho and Canelas, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 215, provided the record for Minas Gerais.
