Pithecopus ayeaye Lutz, 1966, Copeia, 1966: 236. Holotype: AL-MNRJ 3722, by original designation. Type locality: "Morro do Ferro, a hill inside an ancient volcanic crater, at Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais", Brazil.

Phyllomedusa itacolomi Caramaschi, Cruz, and Feio, 2006, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 524: 2. Holotype: MNRJ 34650, by original designation. Type locality: BRAZIL - MINAS GERAIS: Lagoa Seca (20° 25′ S, 43° 29′ W, 1600 m above sea level), Parque Estadual do Itacolomi, Municipality of Ouro Preto". Synonymy by Baêta, Caramaschi, Cruz, and Pombal, 2009, Zootaxa, 2226: 58.

Distribution

Southwestern Minas Gerais and adjacent border area of São Paulo, Brazil.

In the Phyllomedusa hypochondrialis group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 117, and Caramaschi, 2006, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 64: 159-179. Araújo, Condez, and Haddad, 2007, Check List, 3: 156-158, provided a new record and provided a range map. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 266. Baêta, Caramaschi, Cruz, and Pombal, 2009, Zootaxa, 2226: 58-65, demonstrated that Phyllomedusa itacolomi is in the synonymy of this species.
