Type locality: BRAZIL - MINAS GERAIS: Lagoa Seca (20° 25′ S, 43° 29′ W, 1600 m above sea level), Parque Estadual do Itacolomi, Municipality of Ouro Preto". Synonymy by Baêta, Caramaschi, Cruz, and Pombal, 2009, Zootaxa, 2226: 58.

Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 64: 159-179. Araújo, Condez, and Haddad, 2007, Check List, 3: 156-158, provided a new record and provided a range map.
