Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 167-168, provided a brief account and suggested that Litoria zweifeli and Litoria granti (both as Nyctimystes) are sibling species. Kraus, 2010, Herpetol. Rev., 41: 246-248, provided the records for Chimbu and Southern Highlands Provinces.
