Litoria tyleri Martin, Watson, Gartside, Littlejohn, and Loftus-Hills, 1979 "1978", Proc. Linn. Soc. New South Wales, 103: 25. Holotype: AMS R64754, by original designation. Type locality: "Ryan's Swamp, Caves Beach Reserve, A. C. T., 14 km S of Huskisson, Shire of Shoalhaven, N[ew]. S[outh]. W[ales]. (35° 09′ 45″ S, 150° 40′ 00″ E)", Australia.

English Names

Laughing Treefrog (Ingram, Nattrass, and Czechura, 1993, Mem. Queensland Mus., 33: 222).

Tyler's Australian Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 60).

Tyler's Tree Frog (Barker, Grigg, and Tyler, 1995, Field Guide Aust. Frogs., Ed. 2: 98).

Distribution

Coastal southeastern Queensland and eastern New South Wales, Australia; one locality above the Waria River, 1280 m elevation, southeastern Papua New Guinea.

Comment

In the Litoria peronii group according to the original publication of Barker, Grigg, and Tyler, 1995, Field Guide Aust. Frogs., Ed. 2: 94. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 159, provided a brief account (as Nyctimystes tyleri) and provided the Papua New Guinea record.
