Litoria rheocolus Liem, 1974, Mem. Queensland Mus., 17: 152. Holotype: QM J22631, by original designation. Type locality: "Kuranda, 50 km west [actually ca. 33 km by road NW—R.G. Zweifel in Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 191] of Cairns, N. Queensland", Australia.

Litoria rheocola — Tyler and Davies, 1978, Aust. J. Zool., Suppl. Ser., 27 (63): 35. Justified gender change in species name.
