Litoria pronimia Menzies, 1993, Aust. J. Zool., 41: 249. Holotype: UP 8404, by original designation. Type locality: "6 km south by west of Tabubil town, on the road between Tabubil and Lukwi Dam, Ok Ma, Western Proince of Papua New Guinea ... altitude about 500 m".

Known only from four localities on the southern flank of the central mountain range, betweem 141° and 145° E, Papua New Guinea, 500-1000 m elevation.
In the Litoria nigropunctata group according to the original publication. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 147-148, provided a brief account and included this in his Litoria iris group. Shea and Kraus, 2007, Zootaxa, 1514: 37-60, commented on types.
