English Names

Black-dotted Treefrog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 60).

Distribution

Northern New Guinea and Gebe and Japen Is., 0-500 m elevation; one locality, Ok Tedi River, on the southern flank of the central mountain ranges.

In the Litoria nigropunctata group of Tyler and Davies, 1978, Aust. J. Zool., Suppl. Ser., 27 (63): 37. See Menzies, 1972, Herpetologica, 28: 291-300. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 116-117, provided a brief account for this species which he included in his Litoria nigropunctata complex.
