Litoria multicolor Günther, 2004, Mitt. Mus. Naturkd. Berlin, Zool., 80: 252. Holotype: ZMB 62137, by original designation. Type locality: "on the main ridge of the Wondiwoi Mts. at the base of the Wandammen Peninsula, about 10 km west of the Umar Bay coast, 2° 56′ S, 134° 36′ E, Papua (formerly Irian Jaya), Indonesia".

Undisturbed mossy rainforest at ca. 950 m elevation at the type locality on the main ridge of the Wondiwoi Mountains at the base of the Wandammen Peninsula, about 10 km west of the Umar Bay coast, 2° 56′ S, 134° 36′ E, Papua (formerly Irian Jaya), Indonesia.
Explicitly not assigned to species group in the original publication, although in addendum suggesting a close relationship with Litoria sanguinolenta. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 128-129, provided a brief account.
