Stor. Nat. Genova, Ser. 3, 69: 213. Type locality: "Yule Island in Nova Guinea australi .... uno all'Isola Yle e l'altro a Niecura sulla Costa opposta".

Distribution
Southeastern New Guinea from the Port Moresby area to Milne Bay and Dogura, 0-500 m elevation.
Comment
In the Litoria thesaurensis group of Tyler and Davies, 1978, Aust. J. Zool., Suppl. Ser., 27 (63): 42. Removed from the synonymy of Litoria thesaurensis by Menzies and Zug, 1979, Micronesica, 51: 325, where it had been placed by Loveridge, 1948, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 101: 308. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 113-114 provided a brief account for this species which he included in his Litoria thesaurensis complex.
