Litoria gasconi Richards, Oliver, Krey, and Tjaturadi, 2009, Zootaxa, 2277: 2. Holotype: MZB Amph. 15839, by original designation. Type locality: "camp near Marina Valen Village (02° 22.230′ S, 138° 12.753′ E), 500 m a.s.l., southern foothills of the Foja Mountains, Papua Province, Indonesia".

Known from two sites in the vicinity of Marina Valen and Kwerba Villages, in the southern foothills of the Foja Mountain Range, north-central Papua Province, Indonesia; also found in the Prince Alexander Ranges of Papua New Guinea.
Most similar to Litoria multiplica according to the original publication. F. Kraus in Oliver, Richards, and Tjaturadi, 2012, Zootaxa, 317842, provided the Papua New Guinea record.
